Attendee GuidelinesMembers’ behavior in the hotels and throughout the trainings is the only image that many have of our organization. Students’ conduct and dress should contribute to the positive, professional image of FCCLA. Jeans and t-shirts are not appropriate dress for these trainings. Your FCCLA uniform should be worn to all sessions. The following conduct code applies to all participants: - Behavior at all times should be such that it reflects credit to you, your school, state, and FCCLA.
- Student conduct is the responsibility of the responsible chaperone. Students shall keep their chaperone informed of their activities and whereabouts at all times.
- Students are to attend all sessions and activities.
- Any accidents, injuries, or illnesses should be reported to their chaperone immediately.
- If a student is found responsible for stealing or vandalism, the student and his/her parents will be expected to pay all damages.
- Students attending the USA Leadership Training may not purchase, possess, consume, or be under the influence of alcohol or drugs at any time. Violators will be subject to stringent disciplinary action.
- Smoking is not allowed.
- Students who disregard the rules will be subject to disciplinary action and may be sent home at their own expense. Parents/guardians will be notified.
CurfewThere is an 11:30 p.m. in-room and quiet curfew for all students each night. This curfew should be enforced by the advisers and will be strictly enforced by hotel security. Safety Tips- Name badges must be worn when attending sessions. The badge shows you are part of the meeting and admits you to sessions and activities. Remove name badges when outside the hotel.
- Never travel alone. You should be accompanied by an adult when outside the hotel. Use good judgment when talking to people not connected with FCCLA.
- Never give out your room number to anyone you don't know.
- Lock and bolt your hotel room door; only open it when you know who is on the other side. All hotel personnel wear uniforms and have an identification badge. If in doubt, call the hotel security to come and verify the employee's identity.
- Valuables, airline tickets, and money should be kept in a hotel safety deposit box or the in room safe.
- Note the fire escape exits on your floor. As an added precaution, count the number of doors from your room to the nearest exit in case smoke-filled hallways block your vision.
Additional Tips- Use pay phones or cell phones for placing long-distance and local calls.
- Don’t forget to leave a tip for good service in restaurants that provide full service. A 15% gratuity is customary.
- Pay room service expenses directly with cash.
- Be considerate of sleeping hours and privacy of other hotel guests and FCCLA members.
- Delegates must be in their rooms and quiet by 11:30 pm
- Check your room carefully before departure. Be sure all personal items have been removed.
