Leaders at Work recognizes FCCLA members who create projects to strengthen leadership skills on the job. These skills contribute to success across a broad range of career fields. Leaders at Work motivates students to prepare for career success.

Youth learn leadership skills in specific career units and create Leaders at Work projects to accomplish personal goals in one of six career units related to Family and Consumer Sciences:

  • Early Childhood, Education, and Services
  • Food Production and Services
  • Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation
  • Housing, Interiors, and Furnishings
  • Textiles and Apparel
  • Family and Consumer Sciences Education.

Awards:

Each member may apply to be recognized as a Leaders at Work Outstanding Leader in one of the six career units. These young people are recognized at the FCCLA National Leadership Conference and earn an impressive accomplishment to add to their resumes. In addition to the National Outstanding Leader recognition, students may apply for available scholarships.

  • Huber-Buchenroth sponsors one Textiles and Apparel Scholarship.
  • Johnson and Wales University sponsors two Food Production and Services and two Hospitality, Tourism, and Recreation scholarships.

Deadline: Award and Scholarship Applications due to FCCLA national headquarters postmarked by March 1.
