Community Service

Community ServiceThe Community Service program guides members to identify local concerns and carry out projects to improve the quality of life in their communities. Through their projects, members experience character development and improve their critical and creative thinking, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation. FCCLA members learn more about themselves, others, and the world so that they can make a difference now and in the future.

Community Service Units

  • Learn - Members explore personal values, ethics, and ethical decision-making while evaluating their community needs.
  • Lead - Members learn how to use their leadership skills to serve their community and how to transfer those servant leadership skills to the workplace.
  • Serve - Members are introduced to the critical role community partnerships and advocacy play in serving the needs of others while also developing their own community-based service.

Community Service Logo Meaning

The Community Service logo represents impact, leadership, and the responsibility to serve others.

The group of figures symbolizes people coming together to create meaningful change. It reflects the power of collective action and the understanding that strong communities are built through connection, collaboration, and shared purpose.

The upward shape of the figures represents growth through service. It reflects how giving back not only strengthens communities but also develops leadership, character, and confidence within each student.

The highlighted element within the design represents the individual’s role in making a difference. It reinforces that every student has the ability to lead, contribute, and take action in their community.

Together, these elements reflect the three units of Community Service. Through Learn, students develop an understanding of values, ethics, and community needs. Through Lead, they apply leadership skills to serve others. Through Serve, they take action, build partnerships, and create lasting impact.
